We got together with my mom and Stephanie yesterday to make apple pies. My mom has a knack for making them from scratch and we needed her help. After 3 hours, several pounds of apples, almost 10 lbs of sugar and a big mess, we made 14 pies.

we do this each year with Jake's mom's side of the family. This year we made 114!
I have six squirrelled away in my freezer...three a gift from a friend whose apple pies are THE best...the others, mine. Doesn't it feel good to know you have that stash in your freezer? It is always such a treat to whip on out and make the house smell wonderful as it bakes. Oh yah, and then there is the eating of it :)
