Extreme Makeover: Nesting Edition

This pregnancy I have been nesting but it different way than last time. When I was pregnant with Kyla I had to have everything organized in my house, drawers, cupboards, etc. This time around I have been in the mood to redecorate and remodel a few of the rooms in our house before baby arrives. Thanks to my helpful husband we have been able to knock off most of my to do list. Although I think he may be ready for my nesting instinct to be done soon.

The first project we tackled last spring was moving our office out to a main area in the play room/living room. Since we had to turn our 3rd bedroom into Kyla's big girl room this now had to become our laptop/mail area. A smaller space but works just as well. We actually moved most of the office down to the basement so Eric has a place to work for his business and his mess isn't out in plain sight.

Once we had the office cleaned out we (mainly Eric) painted and re-did Kyla's new room. Dad Skip made a toddler bed for her so we added a few more touches and her room was done. My mom actually made her comforter since I couldn't find one that I liked. Kyla LOVED her new room and still does. The tranistion from a crib to toddler bed went very smoothly.

There wasn't much that needed to be done in our room but we did order new bedding to brighten things up.

The babies room took a long time to decide. I found bedding I liked from Pottery Barn but decided it was a little too pricey. Finally made my 2nd choice and ordered it online only to find out it has been discontinued. The 2nd choice bedding would have required another new coat of paint in the nursery. So much to Eric's relief I just went back to my first and original choice from Pottery Barn. We were able to keep the room green which made for an easy makeover. I have more touches to add but they may give away part of the name so they will wait a few more weeks.

It was a whole new world for me to find boy decor but it was a fun change too!

And we also re-did our living room. We had a large sectional sofa in here and I loved the comfort of it but was DONE with dog hair on the couch and it was getting pretty dirty since it was such a light color. We decided to to go with leather and a new darker rug to cover up the dirt!

So far thats it for projects for now. Now its time to make sure all the clothes are washed and bags are packed for the hospital. Only 4 more weeks!!!
